The Accounts for the year 2007-08 is due and we are aware that all are inpatient as the annual account statements are not in their hands. We have just received the approval of Government for the interest to be paid for the year 2007-08. We assure that the Annual Statement will be dispatched immediately and that the work is in progress.
We also take this opportunity to state that we have settled 96.19% of claims within 30 days of its receipt during the last year. We are trying to improve this further. In the last year we have also extended Provident Fund benefits to 2097 new establishments thereby giving benefits to 1,30,865 employees.
We request all the employers to volunteer for coverage under the Act, if not already done. Kindly note that the Act applies by its own force to every establishment that falls within the purview of the Act. The employers are therefore advised to approach the Provident Fund offices to get their establishment listed, if the conditions are satisfied, to avoid embarrassment in future. We also request the employees to come forward and inform the details of their employment if they are not enrolled into Provident Fund so far.
We are very happy to note the overwhelming response to our Website. Almost 200 hits per day is really a good sign. We hope that the stakeholders will use the Website to the maximum and reduce their visits to the Provident Fund Offices.
