EPFO has Launched online receipt of Electronic Challan cum Return (ECR) from the Month of April 2012 (March paid in April). Employers are requested to Register their establishments and create their user id and password through this portal. The registered employers can upload the Electronic Return and the uploaded return data will be displayed through a digitally signed copy in PDF format. It will be available for printing also. Once approved by the employer online Challan will be popped based on uploaded return. The employer may choose to make the payment through internet banking of SBI or take a print out of the Challan and pay at any designated branch of State Bank of India (SBI).



> No paper return to be prepared and submitted to EPFO.
> No need to submit other returns viz Form 5/10/12A,3A and 6A.
> Employers will get the confirmation of payment through SMS instantly.
> The contribution will be credited to the members' account on monthly basis.
> Employers can view the annual accounts slip for accounting year 2011-12 online.
> For earlier years employers can request for the annual slips through this portal.


Steps to Register your establishment with E-sewa

  • > Go to www.epfindia.com, Click on “E-sewa” & read FAQ.
  • > Click on “Register”
  • > Select State & Office.
  • > Enter Estt Code & Ext then Click on “Get Details”.
  • > Enter necessary details and click on “Get Pin”, keep the window open till the SMS is received on your mobile.
  • > Enter the received PIN and temporary username and password will be sent on your mobile.
  • > Use temporary username and password to generate your desired username and password.
  • > Log into E-sewa using your username and password.


Steps to Download E-return Tool

  • > Go to www.epfindia.com, Click on “E-return Tool for Employers” & read Instructions for Installation.
  • > Download the software “A-L” for fresh installation “E & F” for upgrading from previous version (also read j. Installation Procedure for New Versions to upgrade correctly).
  • > Setup the software & Enter employees’ wages & contribution details.
  • > Log into “E-sewa” and Upload the generated ECR under “ECR > ECR UPLOAD”.
  • > Approve the ECR to generate the Online Challan.
  • > Print the Generate challan with TRRN No and submit to SBI with cheque.
